DESCRIPTION:A Day of excellence is part of the KS1 singing festival. Two children from each of the schools involved have been invited to a workshop during the day to work on songwriting to develop a piece\, which will be performed at the festival.  They will work with local musicians and writers during the session giving them a really immersive learning experience and we look forward to hearing the work they produce at the festival in March. \nThe two sessions run 9am-11am and then 1.15pm-3pm. \n

This work is a jazz and poetry collaboration between Grimsby poet Josie Moon\, internationally renowned jazz composer and arranger Alan Barnes and one of the UK’s leading jazz guitarists\, Pat McCarthy. A Requiem is a commemoration of a century of conflict and a call for peace in our time. DESCRIPTION:We are delighted to announce the young musicians that attended the music for youth regional heat in Hull earlier this year were successful and will be heading off to Symphony Hall in Birmingham in July to take on the national festival! The students are all busy excitedly preparing during their usual rehearsals and we keep our fingers crossed that they are once again successful! \n\n\n\n\n\nIf successful with this round\, the mass ensemble will be invited to perform in London at the one and only Royal Albert Hall later this year as part of the Schools Prom! This is an unbelievably exciting opportunity\, for some it will be a once in a lifetime event!
