Jazz Camp For Girls
Saturday 8th March, 10am-4pm at Grimsby Institute
Jazz North’s ‘Jazz Camp for Girls’ was inspired by a successful Danish initiative to introduce young female musicians to improvisation and address gender balance in the music industry. The camps are a safe spaces for girls aged between 8-15 to explore improvisation in a fun, supportive environment. The project connects tutors from across the North, encouraging them to network and share examples of good practice.
Band Night
Tuesday 1st April, 6pm at the Old Clee Club
NEL Music Centre offers a night of up and coming young talent. This is the second band night following on from our sell out gig at the Grimsby Rugby Club before Christmas. A fantastic opportunity see local talent take to the stage!
Spring Concert
Wednesday 2nd April, 7pm at the Grimsby Central Hall
NEL Music Centre Spring Concert, featuring the weekly youth music ensembles. Enjoy an eclectic evening of music featuring our Choir ensembles, Steel Pan groups, String ensembles, Taiko Drumming groups and Classical Guitars.
The HEROS Orchestra
7th & 8th April at The Albemarle Music Centre, Hull
The HEROS Orchestra was set up to give holiday opportunities for young people to participate in orchestral music projects and activities. This project is for orchestral players in full time education from our region: Hull, East Riding, North Lincs, North-East Lincs
Grade V or above. This includes players up to the age of 21 at college or university.
Also open to all musicians studying with Yorkshire Young Musicians.
